I took many photos of this beautiful flower when it bloomed in my garden earlier this summer and absolutely fell in love with the contrast in colours. The deep purples and yellows were stunning and just asked to be painted. I sometimes think people walk by these beautiful flowers and never look a little closer at nature's artworks.

This was one of a series of tondo rose paintings and the last one still available. Roses are so beautiful to paint and have so many hidden details, The colours on the petals as the light reflects off it is one of my favourite things to capture.
